A 29-year-old Connecticut man who was killed after being hit by a vehicle has been identified.

Man Hit By Vehicle Dies In Shelton Crash

New Haven resident Erick Irizarry of Waterbury, died around 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 9 on School Street in the area of Monroe Street in Fairfield County in Shelton.

According to Shelton Police Det. Christopher Nugent, Irizarry was found unresponsive by EMS and pronounced dead on the scene.

An investigation by the Shelton Accident Reconstruction Team revealed that Irizarry was working in the area for Asplundh Tree Service and was struck by a work vehicle, Nugent said.

The Office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified and responded to the scene.

The accident is actively under investigation by the Shelton Police Department Reconstruction Team.
